Podiatry

Podiatry at Ramsay Street

Our Podiatrists are located in our allied health centre and specialise in the treatment of foot problems and walking difficulties across all age groups- including children. Treatments are especially beneficial for people with underlying health concerns. Often a podiatrist’s recommendations might include specific exercises, the use of custom-made inserts for your shoes, or medications to treat skin conditions.

Podiatry can help with Treatment and Management of:

  • Thickened, fungal nail or ingrown toenails
  • Heel and Arch Pain
  • Foot injuries such as sprains and overuse.
  • Calluses and corns

Diabetic Patients are more at Risk of Foot Problems

People with diabetes are more likely to develop serious foot problems because the condition may lead to reduced blood flow to the feet, which slows the healing of cuts and abrasions. Furthermore, diabetic patients often possess damaged nerves in the foot, which result in a reduced ability to feel minor trauma. Thus, it is crucial patients with diabetes seek regular advice and treatment from a podiatrist before trying to manage foot pain and problems.

Support Shoes and Orthotics

Custom made orthotics are crucial in efforts to reduce pain, provide support, prevent deformity, and improve overall bio-mechanical function of the body. Indeed, the use of custom-measured orthotics has been consistently successful in efforts to solve a patient’s specific set of issues.
